I started with Mara as my New Year's resolution in January 2010. While exercise is a top priority, finding time amidst a full-time, Wall Street career, and two kids is difficult.
Mara immediately worked into my schedule. She provides private lessons early on the weekend and is super flexible when I need to shift times, dates or, most importantly, when I can dig up an hour during the week at the last minute.
Her teaching style is very hands-on, highly motivational and works on all parts of my body. I started with Pilates because of serious back pain stemming from a herniated disk. Amazingly, I am now pain free, I can swing through a golf stroke for the first time in years, and I feel so much stronger. I like that every lesson counts, she is never willing to let me coast and what I've seen with other instructors is a shortening of lesson time and significant repetition as the weeks go on. With Mara every class is different and hence highly engaging.
Overall, I'd highly recommend her for private classes and group classes. The change in my core strength and overall body tone is noticeable. So far the best New Year's resolution that I've managed to stick with!
